Recently IABC (International Association of Business Communicators) developed a new vision statement. It is “Professional communicators at the heart of every organization”. That got me thinking about what that would/could really look like. What does it mean to be “at the heart”? I’ve been discussing this topic with other senior communicators and with those who attend my Strategic Communications Planning seminars. As a result, I’ve developed a model to describe what I believe it means to be “at the heart” of the organization. That model is the central theme of a new seminar I’ve created.
